ㅇ In 2024, 67 students were selected as Korean Honor Scholarship (KHS) recipients from 49
universities across the United States. These students were chosen from a pool of 204 applicants
who were recommended through regional evaluations by various U.S. Consulates. The "Central
Selection Committee of the Korean Honor Scholarship Fund," consisting of experts in different
fields at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the USA, conducted a thorough and rigorous
selection process.
ㅇ The KHS is awarded to outstanding Korean-American and international students who have a
strong sense of identity as Koreans. By providing scholarships to these exceptional students, we
aim to instill pride in their heritage and encourage them to grow into future leaders of both
mainstream American society and the Korean diaspora, as well as the homeland. This scholarship
is funded by investment returns from a $2.9 million endowment provided by the Korean
government.
