HKEC Expands 

Korean Language Programs 

and Teacher Training Partnerships

The Houston Korean Education Center (HKEC) is 

strengthening collaboration with Taylor ISD 

and the University of Texas at Austin 

to expand Korean language education.

Discussions focused on introducing Korean programs, 

expanding to nearby districts, and 

addressing growing demand linked to 

Samsung’s Taylor facility. 

HKEC also proposed adding Korean to 

UT Austin’s LOTE teacher preparation program 

to support future teacher development.
