Korean Speech Contest for Foreigners

The 3rd Korea Times Korean Speech Contest for Foreigners is now open for applications. We encourage foreign nationals and overseas Koreans whose native language is not Korean to participate and share their Korean language skills and experiences.

Contest Overview

• Application Period: February 26 – May 7

• Announcement of Results: May 26
  (Results will be announced through The Korea Times newspaper and its official website.)

• Eligibility:
  Foreign nationals residing in Korea or abroad, as well as overseas Koreans whose native language is not Korean

Contest Categories

• Speech
  Participants may choose a free topic or the theme “What Is My Favorite K?”
  (Long-form or short-form video)

• Pronunciation
  Korean Tongue Twister Challenge

Application Process

1. Create and Upload a Video
   Upload your video to your personal social media platform (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Instagram) with the required hashtags.

2. Submit an Online Application
   Complete the online application form through the submission page and provide the link to your uploaded video.

Benefits

• Internship Opportunity:
  One award recipient who is currently enrolled in a university or graduate school in Korea will be offered a summer internship with the video team at The Korea Times.

• Certificate of Participation:
  A certificate will be issued upon request to participants who wish to receive one.
